For those enthusiasts interested in a traditional shotgun built
to excel in both the field and on the range alike, Browning has
announced the reintroduction of the legendary Citori White
Lightning over and under.
The new White Lightning
is built on a silver nitride
nished receiver and
features a new engraving pattern.
e receiver houses the long
lasting, full-width hinge pin and
tapered locking lug design the
Citori is respected for. Blued
barrels feature ivory front and mid
bead sights.
e lightning-style stock and
forearm are hewn from Grade III/
IV American walnut with a rich,
oil nish. Stylish new checkering
patterns provide an updated
appearance and enhanced grip.
e Citori White Lightning
is chambered for 12-gauge, 3in
shells and includes three Invector-
Plus black Midas Grade extended
choke tubes in Full, Modi ed and
Improved Cylinder constrictions.
Available barrel lengths are 26
and 28 inches.
WHAT MAKES WHITE
LIGHTNING?
e term “left in the white”, or
simply “white” has been used for
decades describing the colour of
shotgun and ri e parts. “In the
white” means that rearm parts
were not blued or colour casehardened
or coloured in any way,
but left in the natural, polished
colour of the metal, such as steel.
Often times, the bolt, top lever,
slide, ejectors and other parts
are left in the natural colour of
the metal, providing a luxurious
contrast to the rest of the shotgun.
In this way, the Browning’s
Citori White Lightning receiver
and action o er a ne choice as
opposed to “blued” over unders.
But don’t be afraid that the
steel receiver is unprotected: the
natural colour steel receiver and
trigger guard are protected from
corrosion by a durable coating
process called a “nitrided” nish,
o ering similar protection to
bluing, but with a uniquely
elegant and attractive look.

e Citori White Lightning’s
round knob or pistol grip allows
the shooter to position his hand
at the same, solid place for each
shot, thus o ering better control
for fast- ying waterfowl upland
game, sporting clays or trap and
skeet. Matching the rounded
pistol grip is the forearm. It is
nicely rounded and together, they
give the name to this over under
gun as “Lightning Style,” or the
Citori White Lightning, a classic
