Steyr Arms names Scott Tirman controller

Th e Norwegian Police has selected the
Sig Sauer P320 X-Series as the standard
service pistol for select agencies within its
organization. Th e force comprises 8,000
police offi cers and 8,000 civilian personnel
responsible for domestic law enforcement,
border control, coordinating search and
rescue operations, counter-terrorism,
highway patrol, judicial orders, criminal
investigation and prosecution.
Th e Norwegian Police conducted a very
demanding, rigorous, and stressful testing
protocol that lasted several weeks with
fi rearms from multiple manufacturers.
Testing for accuracy, speed, performance
and ergonomics was conducted by select
agencies within the organization with
whom the pistol would be in service,
and a third party was used for evaluating
technical qualities.
Th e P320 X-Series pistol is a modular,
striker-fi red pistol with a serialized trigger
group available in varying grip sizes and
adaptable to multiple calibres.

Th e intuitive three-point takedown
requires no trigger pull for disassembly,
and safety features include a striker safety,
disconnect safety, and optional manual
safety.

Steyr Arms has appointed
Scott Tirman to the position
of controller for the company.
Tirman will serve as the
company’s principal accounting
offi cer and will report directly
to Scott O’Brien, Steyr
Arms president and CEO.
Th e appointment is eff ective
immediately.
As controller, Tirman will lead
the company’s overall accounting,
fi nancial planning and analysis,
project fi nance and treasury
functions. He will have overall
responsibility for ensuring that the
company’s growth is fi nancially
supported while also overseeing
the fi nancial governance for the
business. He will be responsible
for the production of periodic
fi nancial reports, maintenance of
an adequate system of accounting
records and a comprehensive
set of controls and budgets
designed to mitigate risk, enhance
the accuracy of the company’s
reported fi nancial results and
ensure that reported results
comply with accounting principles
and international reporting
standards.
“Scott is a seasoned fi nancial
professional with a successful
track record of driving process
and operational improvements,”
said O’Brien. “In addition to his
accounting acumen, his experience
makes him ideally qualifi ed to
take on this leadership role at
Steyr Arms, as we continue to
grow and run the company more
cost-eff ectively and effi ciently.”
Prior to joining the Steyr Arms
team, Tirman held the position
of governmental acquisition
contractor and auditor for
Infrastructure Resources, where
he focused on the audit and audit
readiness at the Department of
Defense. He brings more than six
years of accounting experience to
Steyr Arms.
