after being fi ltered through a polarised
lens enables anglers to see the
contents in the water in a completely
different way. Crisp colours and vibrant
images will be seen like never before
and with a striking level of detail.
ENVIRONMENT
It’s very important to consider the
environment when choosing your
lens tint, so the glasses work for the
appropriate conditions. Generally, for
offshore fi shing, green lenses with
blue mirrors or smoke grey lenses
work best. For inland fi shing, amber
and copper lenses with emerald green
mirrors work well.

“Conditions were tough at the championships this year, as the water level
changed every day. My Wiley X glasses were perfect – mostly for fi nding
different barriers in the water when watching the lure movement and
checking how the fi sh reacted to my lure. Without these glasses, it would
be much harder to win. I have tried many types of glasses, but no other
brands were as perfect as Wiley X. I have used them for about eight years
– without them, fi shing would be very diffi cult.”

somewhat daunting choice; however
here are some general guidelines.
POLARISED – OF COURSE
Polarised lenses for fi shing are an
essential feature and probably the
most important piece of equipment an
angler has in his/her arsenal.
Because the water is a constant
source of refl ection, polarisation is
the best option to block light rays that
would normally enter anglers’ eyes,
causing a hazy or obscured view into
the water. The light that enters the eye
LOW-LIGHT: For anglers fi shing before
dawn or after sunset, polarised amber
lenses are recommended, as they let in
a good amount of light and create great
clarity in low-light situations, yet still
block blinding glare while preserving
sharpness and increasing contrast.
VARIABLE (CLOUDY – SUNNY):
For anglers that fi sh in a variety of
conditions, polarised emerald and
Venice gold mirrors with amber base
tints are proven and great options under
these conditions. They help to improve
depth perception and work in both
cloudy or sunny conditions.
HIGH SUN: Smoke grey, smoke
green, silver fl ash mirror, blue mirror
and crimson mirror polarised lenses
are ideal for high sun conditions, as
they best absorb refl ections across the
mirror surface, so diminishing glare.
Polarised blue mirrors with smoke green
base tints are truly ideal for offshore
environments.
TOP HONOURS
It’s obvious that Wiley X is getting the
package right. In 2018, for the second
straight year, the brand has won Best
New Eyewear prize at the EFTTEX Trade
Show in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In
fact, it was only the second time in the
company’s history that it has entered
the awards and its latest Active style WX
Nash polarised sunglasses, featuring the
new Kryptek Altitude camoufl age, came
out on top. Last year Wiley X won the
same award with the very popular WX
Boss Climate Control sunglass, featuring
Kryptek Highlander camoufl age.
