The biggest sporting goods retailer
in France is Decathlon. The French
company has over 1,400 stores in 45
countries and is still expanding. It has
long been a supplier of fi shing tackle
to its French recreational anglers. In
addition, there are specialist chains
across the country supplying tackle,
including Pacifi c Pêche, Terres et Eaux
and Cabesto.
Its network of dedicated angling
retailers stock major brand items for
all disciplines, with the two main ones
being Concept Pro Pêche – which has
over 100 retail outlets – and Euro Peche,
with more than 115 shops.
Of course, many big brands have
operating facilities in France including
the likes of Pure Fishing, Normark
(Rapala and Shimano), Sensas, Daiwa
France and SERT.
CONCLUSION

one in which to do business. The
angler numbers are impressive and the
fi shing in and around the country is
diverse. All disciplines are catered for
in France and, with angling accessories
dominating the market spend, it offers
