Boat Builders show shipshape
The 28th International
Boat Builders’ Exhibition
and Conference (IBEX)
welcomed 23 per cent more
attendance compared with
last year.
With nearly 4,300 verifi ed
visitors and a 10 per cent
increase in square footage
to accommodate 14 per cent
with more visitors
more exhibitors, IBEX has
been deemed a tremendous
success.
Overall, a total of 55
countries were represented
at the show, a 10 per cent
rise over last year.

that the industry is as strong
as ever.

The National Marine
Manufacturers Association
(NMMA) has inducted its
president, Thom Dammrich,
into its Hall of Fame as he
announces his retirement.
Thom, who has nearly 20 years
at the helm of the NMMA, is
set to receive the association’s
most prestigious accolade after
revealing he will
step down from
the post next
September.
His successor
will start at the
association on the
July 1st, 2019, and
assume the role
of president on
October 1st. A search committee made
up of NMMA board members begin the
process of identifying Thom’s successor
early next year.
President of Regulator Marine and
member of NMMA’s executive committee
and board of directors, Joan Maxwell said,
“There isn’t anyone in the past 20 years
who has done more to unite the marine
industry than Thom Dammrich.”
