Spomb Limited and Spomb Fishing
Limited Acquired by Fox International
Fox international has
announced the acquisition
of Spomb® Limited and
Spomb® Fishing Limited.
Spomb represents a
global brand, built on
outstanding design and
manufacturing excellence.
Spomb bait dispensers were
the brainchild of inventor
and fanatical carp angler,
Bryan Houghton. The
revolutionary concept was
a true innovation and, in a
market where products come
and go regularly, the fact the
Spomb is more popular than
ever, eight years after it was
fi rst launched, is testament
to its unique, innovative
nature. The business has
also thrived due to a welldeserved
reputation for great
quality and customer service.
All of these qualities resonate
strongly with anglers and the
strength of the brand means
it is a perfect addition to the
Fox carp fi shing family. Fox
will aim to maintain and
build on that reputation
and will continue to grow
the brand and the unique
nature of the business by
manufacturing Spomb bait
dispensers in Greater London
for the foreseeable future. It
is also believed that the Fox
sales team and infrastructure
will bring signifi cantly
increased convenience to all
our retail partners around
Europe and across the rest
of the world. As part of the
deal, both Judith and Bryan
Houghton will remain as
consultants in order to
help with a smooth hand
over as well as continuing
to represent the Spomb
brand. Shaun McSpadden,
Fox International Product
Development Director,
commented “This is an
excellent addition to the Fox
portfolio. Fox and Spomb
share the same values of
innovation, quality service
and brand strength so it
is a perfect fi t for us. I am
delighted that Bryan will
also serve as a consultant to
my team to work on other
exciting new designs and
products in the future.”
Judith Houghton, joint owner
and founder of Spomb
added “we are delighted
that the Spomb brand
and range of products are
going to a good home. We
look forward to helping in
the seamless integration
of these businesses along
with the prospect of helping
Fox deliver new Spomb
inventions and ideas in the
future.’
