double-digit growth in
revenue and profi ts for the
fi scal third quarter which
ended on the 29th of June,
2018. Chairman and CEO,
Helen Johnson-Leipold said,

Europe And Shimano Benelux
Following Cor Ax’s
departure from Shimano,
Erik Naberman has been
appointed as the new
Managing Director of
Shimano Europe’s Fishing
Tackle Division. Erik has
been active for Shimano
for 21 years where for the
previous decade he has
served as the MD of Shimano
Benelux. For the past two
years he has been responsible
for the Benelux Fishing
operation and has been a
board member of the BNHO,
the Dutch Interest Group of
Fishing Tackle Entrepreneurs.
Future plans will focus on
strategies targeted on fully
leveraging our company-wide
digital transformation and
data analytics to enhance
accelerated profi table growth
for all channels long-term.”
Favourable marketplace
momentum for new products,
particularly in Fishing and
Camping, fuelled a 10 percent
increase in total company
net sales of $170.8 million
compared to $155.7 million
in the previous year quarter.
Continued high demand for
new products introduced over
the past 18 months powered
growth in Minn Kota® trolling
motors, Humminbird® fi sh
fi nders and Cannon® down
riggers brands across all key
channels, generating sales
of $121.9 million for a 17.3
percent increase in unit
revenue.
Total Company operating
profi t during the quarter
was $32.0 million, a 29
percent increase compared
to $24.7 million in the prior
year quarter. Gross margin
improved to 46.5 percent
versus 45.5 percent in last
year’s same quarter. Net
income in the fi scal third
quarter rose to $23.8 million,
or $2.37 per diluted share,
a 44 percent increase
compared to $16.6 million, or
$1.65 per diluted share, in the
previous year third quarter.

In this role, Jan will be
leading the Fishing Tackle
sales and marketing teams,
setting the strategy for the
further development of
Shimano’s European Fishing
Tackle operations and
supporting Erik Naberman
on sales and marketing
related projects.
Shimano Benelux
Furthermore Shimano’s
René Veenhuizen will
replace Erik Naberman as
the MD of Shimano Benelux
on 1st October 2018.
René is largely
experienced in the bike
industry and specifi cally in
Shimano as he has been a
member of Team Shimano
for more than 27 years.
During the last three years
he was Sales Director of
Shimano Europe’s Bike
division where he gained
signifi cant experience in
guiding and supporting
teams of more than 40
members. René will operate
from Shimano’s Benelux
offi ce in Nunspeet, the
Netherlands.
As of 1st July 2018 Jan
Harmsen was appointed
as the Sr. International
Sales and Marketing
