“It’s a fantastic opportunity to see
all of our customers in one place and
to take a look at what’s going on in
the market. I really like how the show
travels around Europe but I would like
to see it stay away from Amsterdam.
“We are very well established in
Europe, with partners in each country
and 10 per cent of our business is
conducted here. It’s an important area
for growth and we have good relations
here.”
Another fi rst-time exhibitor was TFO
or Temple Fork Outfi tters to give you
it’s full name. TFO designs and sells a
great array of rods and sees Europe as
an excellent arena in which to expand
its business.
“We’re certainly trying to grow our
business in Europe,” said Bobby Jones,
International Sales Manager for the
Dallas-based outfi t.
“We have existing representation but
like most companies we are trying to
fi nd good, reliable distributors for areas
we don’t currently operate in.
“Aside from our hunt for distributors
EFTTEX represents an important
classroom to learn about the European
market. We want to identify what the
best strategy is to sell to the consumer
and I think this depends on the
country in question. We’re learning and
listening and trying to make the right
decisions.”
Damon Stamoolis, Director of Sales
and Marketing of the rod component
specialists, Pacifi c Bay is determined to
grow the company in Europe.
PacBay has been exhibiting at EFTTEX
for 15 years and Damon is looking to
“reinvigorate the brand” over the next
year.
“PacBay is one of the oldest brands
out there and now it’s all about getting
back in front of our customers. Brand
marketing is going to be our priority
moving forwards.
“We don’t have exclusive distributors;
the Internet has put pay to that, but we
try our best not to overlap distribution.
Another long-time supporter of
EFTTEX is American Fishing Wire.
“We’ve been exhibiting for over 20
years,” said Sales Director, Steven R.
Miller.
“It’s a great show for us as it’s an
opportunity to see our customers, we’re
fairly well represented in Europe so we
use the show as a chance to catch up
with our existing partners.

“We have distributors in each country
and they do the marketing for that
particular market.
“Our main markets are the predator
markets and we’re pleased to bring our
new blue fl uorocarbon called Grand
Slam to the show this year.”
High quality fl y fi shing company Rio
Products has a rich history of visiting
EFTTEX. Rio is one of three brands that
operates under the Far Bank umbrella –
the others being Sage and Redington.
Both Sage and Rio have a big
presence across Europe and Rio’s Brand
Manager, Simon Gawesworth was keen
to tell Tackle Trade World about the
brands European plans.
“All Sage and Rio products can be
found throughout Europe,” said Simon.
“We operate in three sectors –
Scandinavia, Middle Europe and the UK
and you could possible add Iceland in
there somewhere as this is currently a
very vibrant market.
“They are all very similar in terms
of sales but what is interesting is the
demographic of each – middle Europe
and Scandinavia are must younger than
our UK customers.
“We began exhibiting at EFTTEX
in the late 1980’s, we really like the
show and love to come over and meet
customers and distributors. It’s lovely to
do business in a nice environment.
