shooter’s eye to allow for recoil, but not every
type of rifl e recoils that much. Rifl es such as
pre-charged airguns, .22 long rifl es and even
.17 HMR rifl es do not need the 8cm eye
relief of a conventional scope. By designing
the Viper Connect to work closer to the eye,
you get a far wider view – on its maximum
12 power the fi eld of view is the same as a
conventional scope set on six magnifi cation.
Another unique MTC scope is the Viper
Pro. Th is features a 3-1 gearbox-turret that
one rotation of the top turret relates to three
times the adjustment on the scope; ideal
for rifl e with a lot of bullet ‘drop’ as, on the
Viper Pro, it is impossible to over-rotate the
scope and to be a revolution out, something
that is easy to do on a standard turret system.
A lightweight option is also needed by
some shooters; as desirable as it is, a 30mm
scope tube and its corresponding larger
lenses add weight. To meet the need for a
scope that is lighter, MTC has developed a
product that sheds weight but not quality.
Often the only option of a shooter wanting a
lighter scope is to buy one that uses smaller
and cheaper lenses and has less features.
MTC’s MambaLite is light in weight
but retains all the features you could ever
want, including an illuminated multi-point
reticle, semi-target turrets, and side parallax
adjustable.
Th e Mamba lite even features MTC’s
patented magnetic fl ip up covers that both
waterproof, protect and has a 2X magnifi er
in the rear cover that allows the shooter to
magnify parallax and turret dial numbers,
very useful if you need your spectacles for
reading but do not use them for shooting.
New to the range is the MTC Optics
Cobra 4-16x50. What is diff erent about
this feature-rich scope is its fi rst focal plane
reticle. Untder some conditions, it’s really
useful to be able to use the scope to zoom in
or out to see more detail or to ‘fi nd’ a target
amongst a busy background.
With a fi rst focal plane scope such as this,
the reticle also gets larger or smaller keeping
the point of aim constant. Matched to some
great glass and MTC’s usual side parallax.
Th e Cobra F1 is availble now.
